Our compost consists of food waste, cranberries, manures, leaves, and wood waste. The product is all natural, no chemicals are used. Currently, the compost is made in Carver, MA on property owned by Decas Cranberry.  The compost is made throughout the year.  With the right mixture of materials, it generally takes eight to twelve months to make.  The compost is made in windrows approximately 20 feet wide by 150 feet long and 15 feet tall.  The windrows are aerated twice a month and sometimes more if weather permits.  Once the compost is finished it is hauled back to our Farm in Sandwich where it is screened through a1/2 minus screen.

The compost is great for lawns, flowers and vegetable gardens. We have also had customers use it as mulch. We supply in bulk to landscapers and homeowners. The product is now offered in 40 Pound bags. We deliver 5 yards or more (free delivery in Sandwich) .There is a delivery fee for other towns on the Cape depending on location.  Customers are also welcome to come by our Farm to pick up the compost. In addition, we also have a 50-50 mix of compost and loam. Please contact us for delivery and pricing information.  We can provide a soil analysis upon request.

Watts Family Farms, Inc. also raises fresh, free range, Giant White turkeys for Thanksgiving. Giant White's are raised for their abundance of breast meat. They are the traditional turkey raised for Thanksgiving across the country. The turkeys arrive from Bob's Turkey Farm in Lanacaster, MA. We also get the turkeys between June and July. The turkeys arrive at our Farm just after they are hatched and they are raised on a special diet of grain and grasses. When they are about six to seven weeks old, they spend their days outside (weather depending) grazing on grasses. We process the turkeys on site the weekend prior to Thanksgiving and they go on sale the Monday before the holiday. The turkeys are sold on a first come, first serve basis and we do not take any reservations. Over the years, our turkeys have become very popular and we tend to sell out quickly. We recommend arriving at our family home as early as possible on Monday morning. The turkeys will go on sale at 8:00 am. They are sold by the pound. Please call in November for pricing!!

**Cash or Checks only**

Turkeys will go on sale Monday, November 23rd 2015 at 8:00am! $3.49 per Pound!

Currently, Watts Family Farms, Inc. is a food waste hauler and composter.

We are working with supermarkets throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, as well as Cape Cod Community College and the US Coast Guard Station on Cape Cod to eliminate food organics from the waste stream.

The food is collected in 64 gallon totes, which are then dumped into our rendering trucks.

If your facility or organization would be interested in composting contact us to set up an appointment.
